- 02Yes. I have completed the post-graduate courses in Dry Needling. As this is an invasive procedure, a consent will be required from you in the rooms after informing you of the procedure pros and cons.
- 03Unfortunately, invoices are NOT submitted to Medical Aids. You are responsible for claiming back from your Medical Aid. Consultations are settled on the same day, immediately after your treatment. Payment options are Bank Card (Visa/MasterCard), SnapScan or FNB Geopayment. An invoice will be emailed to you within three business days with the relevant diagnosis and treatment codes for you to submit to your Medical Aid.
- 04Unfortunately, no invoices are submitted to Medical Aids. Consultations are settled on the same day, immediately after your treatment. An invoice will be emailed to you within three business days for you to submit to your relevant Medical Aid.
- 05This is dependent on the Medical Aid plan that you are on. Some Medical Aids require a pre-authorisation code. If you are unsure, it is advisable to contact your Medical Aid to query whether physiotherapy is covered and if an authorisation code is required prior to booking an appointment. All Physiotherapy invoices are emailed to patients within three business days following their treatment. This will have the relevant ICD-10 and treatment codes that your Medical Aid requires for a reimbursement.
- 06All appointments are 45min long and include an assessment, treatment, and any needling (if required) or exercises performed during the session. Imaging (E.g. X-ray) referral letters are included in the 45min consultation. If strapping is required, there will be an additional R50-100 depending on the amount/type of strapping used. Should an exercise programme be requested, this will be charged for separately.
- 07We have the following payment options: 1. Card payments (Visa/Mastercard. Not American Express) 2. SnapScan 3. FNB GeoPayments 4. Scan to Pay directly from your banking app Unfortunately NO cheque deposits nor cash are accepted as forms of payment. An updated invoice will be emailed to you within three business days following your appointment, once the payment has reflected on our side. Please indicate whether you require a separate receipt if paying via Bank Card.
- 08In South Africa, Physiotherapists are first line practitioners. Therefore a Doctor's referral is NOT required. Some Medical Aid's however do require a pre-authorisation before attending Physiotherapy. If you are unsure, contact your Medical Aid provider prior to attending your appointment.
- 09Booking can be done quickly and easily online: 1. Click "Book an Appointment"(https://www.nikkiphysio.co.za/appointments) This can be found on the home page or menu. 2. Appointment Select the type of treatment, date and time of your appointment. 3. Details Next, complete your Personal Contact Details. Please ensure that these are correct. This will be used to contact you regarding your appointment and to send invoices. 4. Confirmation of Appointment Request & Consent Form Once complete, you will receive an email regarding your appointment request. For NEW PATIENTS to the practice there will be a link in this email requesting you to complete your Personal details, Medical Aid details, and the Informed Consent. Please complete this as soon as possible. Unsubmitted forms will result in the appointment request being cancelled and the slot opened up to other patients. Should you not receive this email, please check your spam/promotions folders. Alternatively, please send a text Whatsapp to 0842402827 with any queries. Should I be busy with a patient, I will contact you as soon as I can.
- 10Understandably my patients are my first priority. I therefore do not take calls while consulting. If you have made a booking request AND submitted your Details/Consent Form, please be patient. It will be attended to as soon as I have a moment. This is usually within 3hrs of receiving all documentation during the working day. Should you not have received an email with the link to complete your Details/Consent Form, and it's not hiding in your spam/promotions folder, please send a Whatsapp text to inform us. We will assist as soon as we can. Thank you for your understanding!
- 11The number of sessions required depends on the nature and severity of your condition, how long symptoms have been present, and your rehabilitation goals. After your initial assessment, we will discuss a tailored treatment plan and expected timeline.
- 12Please bring ONE Towel/Sheet: This will be used as bed linen for you. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, we have opted to continue disinfecting the bed between patients. Wear comfortable clothing that you can move freely in. We would need to expose the area of injury to perform an assessment and treatment. 1. Should we need to assess an Upper Body part (E.g. Neck/Shoulder) and you feel you may be uncomfortable exposing this area, please wear a crop top or shoe-string vest (preferably not racer back). 2. Please bring a pair of comfortable loose-fitting Shorts: This applies if you are attending for a leg injury E.g. Hamstring, Knee, Hip, Ankle.
- 13We understand that delays can happen. If you arrive late, your session will still need to end at the originally scheduled time to avoid inconveniencing patients booked after you. Your available treatment time will therefore be reduced, and the full consultation fee will still apply. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your 45-minute appointment, there may not be sufficient time to complete an appropriate assessment and treatment. In this case, the appointment will be regarded as a missed appointment, and the full consultation fee will be charged. We will gladly assist you in rescheduling a new appointment at a mutually convenient time.
- 14If you are unable to attend your appointment, we kindly request at least 8 hours’ notice. This allows us the opportunity to offer the appointment time to another patient who may be waiting. Appointments cancelled with less than 8 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, will be charged at the full consultation fee. We appreciate your understanding and co-operation in helping us run on time and provide quality care to all patients.
- 15This can be done however the physio would need to discuss the injury with you to ensure the correct X-ray is requested. Please contact us via email or preferably a WhatsApp text. No voice notes please. X-ray referrals requested outside of appointments will incur an administration fee. A payment link will be sent to you. Once the payment has been received, the X-ray referral letter will be sent to you. Please inform the Physio when you have been for the X-ray. When the report has been received and the X-rays viewed, the Physio will be in contact to discuss the findings with you and suggest the possible next steps for your care.
